This IBM System Storage 500GB 7.2Krpm 6Gb SAS NL 2.5 inch SFF HDD OPTION 49Y1851 requires an available disk drive bay in an IBM DS3524 or EXP3524 expansion unit. IBM best practices for this 49Y1851 Hard Disk Drive require a minimum Model Type 1746 firmware revision of 07.70.16.01 and a minimum EXP3500 ESM firmware revision of 3.16. IBM Storage Manager v10.86 or greater, inconjuntion with Controller FW v7.86, is required to enable the HDD capable T10 PI funtionality.
