IBM x3400 M3 Type 7378 / 7379 Accessories
The IBM x3400 server has been revised over three different generations (M1-M3). Disk drive options for the M2 Series are different than those for the M3 series. The best way to determine which server you have is via the 4-digit IBM feature code on the front of your server. Certain upgrade options are common across all three generations (such as disk drives), but other features such as CPU upgrades are not common across all generations.

Notes: | *Do not mix buffered and unbuffered memory. Do not mix memory ranks. Dual rank memory is always preferred. When using a 2nd CPU, memory should be installed in its dedicated CPU banks. | *These represent the FASTEST CPU upgrade options. Contact us for other CPU upgrade options. | *The use of (8) LFF or (16) SFF drives required an optional backplane upgrade. |
