The PowerEdge 2850 support up to 16GB of PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs in (6) Slots. (Memory can be configured in pairs of 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB DIMMs.)

| Internal Storage |
The PowerEdge 2850 has (6) internal hot-swap U320 SCSI disk drive bays. Up to (6) 300GB 15K disk drives may be installed. Most 2850s shipped with an integrated PERC 4e/Di RAID controller, though some base models only included an Adaptec 39320 HBA. While DELL certified drives are not required to be installed in this server, the mode page settings on DELL drives are optimized for use with the PERC RAID controller.
