The HPE Gen5 MSA 2052 Storage, MSA 2050 Storage, and MSA 1050 Storage Arrays feature the latest 16Gb Fibre Channel, 12Gb SAS, and 10GbE iSCSI host connectivity models.

The MSA 2052/2050/1050 SAN and SAS Storage systems support a wide variety of MSA 2.5-inch SFF drives and MSA 3.5-inch LFF drives.

• Solid-State Drives (SSD) deliver the highest levels of performance and reliability.
• Enterprise (ENT) class SAS hard disk drives balance performance, capacity, and cost while delivering enterprise grade reliability.
• Midline SAS (MDL) hard disk drives are optimized to provide the best ratio of capacity to cost.

Just as the user has a choice of chassis for the array enclosure (LFF or SFF drive bays), they also have a choice of expansion disk enclosures accommodating either drive size. Both the MSA 2052/2050/1050 SFF Disk Enclosure and MSA 2052/2050/1050 LFF Disk Enclosures can be hot added to an operating array. SFF and LFF Array enclosures and Disk Enclosures can be mixed without limitations. Small Form Factor (SFF) 2.5-inch drive bay and Large Form Factor (LFF) 3.5-inch drive bay options are available for for all MSA Gen5 Storage Array Head and Disk Expansion models. All models support the mixing of SSDs, Enterprise SAS HDDs, and Midline SAS HDDs.
