x3755 M3 Type 7164 Accessories

The IBM X3755 (Type 7164) is part of IBM's M3 generation of servers. Like HP's DL385 series of servers, the X3755 uses AMD Opteron CPUs instead of Intel Xeon CPUs.Up to four CPUs are supported.

Note while CPU upgrades are supported, you cannot move from Opteron 6200 up to Opteron 6300 due to a difference in chipsets.
Models with AMD Opteron 6300 processors: Either 16 cores (up to 2.8 GHz) or 12 cores (up to 2.8 GHz) or 8 cores (up to 3.2 GHz) or 4 cores (3.5 GHz), HyperTransport 3 technology up to 6.4 GT/s, and up to 1600 MHz memory speed.
Models with AMD Opteron 6200 processors: Either 16 cores (up to 2.5 GHz) or 12 cores (up to 2.6 GHz) or 8 cores (up to 3.0 GHz), HyperTransport 3 technology up to 6.4 GT/s, and up to 1333 MHz memory speed.

Memory: Up to 32 16GB DIMMs can be installed with the presence of (4) CPUs. Opteron 6300 CPUs require registered DIMMs while the the 6200 series CPUs support both buffered (registered) and unbuffered memory. Use PC3L-8500 or PC3L-10600 speed DIMMs.

The X3755 M3 only suports 8x LFF (3.5") Hot-Swap and 6x Simple Swap disk drives. There is no internal SFF drive support.
