Seagate Cheetah disk drives offer high performance and long life reliability for enterprise computing needs. Cheetah drives are offered in U320 (Parallel SCSI), Fibre Channel, and SAS (Serial SCSI) interfaces. Cheetah drives typically have small capacities than drives in the Barracuda families, but can be 2-3 times faster and last much longer in I/O intensive environments.
Barracuda and Constellation drives usually spin at 7200 RPM and offer higher capacities than Cheetah products. Barracuda drives usually have SATA interfaces, but SAS and FC versions exist as well. Older Barracuda drives from the 1990s have Wide SCSI interfaces.
