Overview

The IBM X3100 (type 4253) was released as part of IBM's M3 generation of servers. No M1 or M2 versions exist (though a newer M4 does exist.) The x3100 is an entry level tower server with only one CPU socket. The fastest supported CPU in the M3 is an Intel Xeon 2.66Ghz Quad Core X3450. Up to 16GB of PC3-10600 (UNBUFFERED / UNREGISTERED) RAM is supported via 4x 4GB DIMMS.
