Overview
The IBM x3400 server has been revised over three different generations (M1-M3). Disk drive options for the M3 Series are different than those for the M1-M2 series. The best way to determine which server you have is via the 4-digit IBM feature code on the front of your server. Certain upgrade options are common across all three generations (such as disk drives), but other features such as CPU upgrades are not common across all generations.
Choose by capacity (left sidebar) or IBM Replacement Part FRU (right sidebar) for more information. All x3400 servers have optional internal (non-RAID) SATA disk modules.

When using a 2nd CPU, memory should be installed in its dedicated CPU banks. | *These represent the FASTEST CPU upgrade options.
