Overview

The IBM x3500 (Types 7977 and 7839) server is a highly expandable tower server for small offices and workgroup settings.

For the 7977 (M1), you can install up to (2) Xeon Quad Core 2.66GHz processors with up to 12Mb of L2 cache. A maximum of 48GB of PC-5300 Registered Memory can be installed across 12 slots.

For the 7839, (M2) Xeon Quad Core E5507 3.06Ghz CPUs are suported. 128GB of PC10600 RAM can be installed across 12 DIMM slots.

The x3500 ships with either a LFF (3.5") disk backplane that allows for (8) 600GB 15K SAS or (8) 2TB 7200RPM SATA disk modules to be installed or a SFF (2.5") disk backplane that allows for (12) 600 GB 10K SAS disk drives to be installed.
