x3755 Type 8877 & 7163 Accessories
The IBM X3755 (Types 8877 and 7163) is a four socket server.. Like HP's DL385 series of servers, the X3755 uses AMD Opteron CPUs instead of Intel Xeon CPUs.
The unique architecture allows for 2,3, or 4 CPU sockets to be populated. The odd 3-CPU configuration is made possible via a pass-through module. The most power CPU option is the AMD Opteron 8360 SE featuring 4x 2.5GHz Cores.
Memory: Up to 32 4GB DIMMs can be installed with the presence of (4) CPUs. PC2-5300 Registered (Buffered) RAM is recommended. 8GB modules are also supported, but will exceeded the maximum addressable limit of 32GB per CPU.
The X3755 only supports 4x LFF (3.5") Hot-Swap disk drives.
