Overview

The IBM 326 and 326m (Types 7969, 7992, 8848) are 1U rack mount servers.

These servers support (2) 2.4Ghz AMD Opteron 280 (Dual Core) CPUs. (8) memory slots allow for the installation of 16GB of PC3200 ECC Registered memory which must be installed in matching pairs of DIMMs. Each CPU can address 8GB of memory. A second CPU is needed to use memory in slots 5-8. [Note: You must be running a 64-Bit Operating System or 32-Bit OS with Physical Address Extension PAE support to address memory above the 4GB barrier.]

Drive Configuration Options:

Most eServer 326 and 326m servers ship with two hot-swap SCSI bays on the front of the server. (2) 300GB 10K U320 drives can be installed with the onboard single-channel LSI U320 controller which features RAID 1 and 0 support. Other versions only support (2) internal SATA disk modules- please contact us if you are unsure about the proper upgrade path.

Optional ServeRAID cards can be installed for RAID-5 protection and the addition of external EXP400 disk drive expansion arrays.
