TS7610
The IBM System Storage TS7610 ProtecTIER Deduplication SMB Appliance (3959-SM1) is a rack unit bundled appliance. It comes with the disk storage and the ProtecTIER software. From a storage perspective, the 3959-SM1 server is shipped with twelve (12) 1TB SATA Disk Drives and two (2) Internal 300GB 2.5" RAID 1 SAS Boot Drives.Two levels of disk capacity can be ordered:
- Feature Code 9313 - 4.0 TB factory install only.
- Feature Code 9314 - 5.4TB factory or field installed.

TS7620
The IBM System Storage TS7620 ProtecTIER Deduplication SMB Appliance (3959-SM2) is a single 3U integrated appliance in 6 TB and 12 TB physical capacities, upgradeable to 35 TB via the TS7620 3959-EXP Expansion Drawer. Two 500 GB SATA boot disks and up to twelve 2 TB nearline SAS disk drives are configured at the factory. Notes:
IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Entry Edition software V3.3 is required in order to reach the 23 TB or 35 TB repositories sizes attaching one or two TS7620 Deduplication Express Expansion Drawers (EXP) respectively to the TS7620 Deduplication Express appliance (SM2). Read the IBM TS7620 Expansion Drawer document for more information.

TS7650
The IBM System Storage TS7650 ProtecTIER Deduplication Appliance (3958-AP1) comes with disk storage in the same frame, and the ordered configuration is pre-cabled in manufacturing. The disk controller for the 3958-AP1 server is an IBM System Storage DS5020 Express and the disk expansion module is an IBM System Storage EXP810 Storage Expansion Unit. Additional or Replacement HDDs for the EXP810 can be ordered here. The DS5020 storage is configured for optimal performance at manufacturing. Three levels of disk capacity can be ordered: 7 TB 18 TB 36 TB For the 3958-AP1 server, the repository is already configured, as well as the file systems over the disk storage.
